About the Role
Swinburne is embarking on an exciting journey, working towards our new vision of bringing people and technology together to build a better world. We are looking for a driven Application Analyst to work in partnership with stakeholders and colleagues to develop improvements to the numerous applications employed across the University. This involves analysis and definition of business requirements, supporting user testing and business process re- engineering. In collaboration with members of the various University business units this position is responsible for driving a high standard of customer service to ensure recognition of, and responsiveness to, the needs of internal and external clients.
You will be an excellent communicator and facilitate cross-training between support teams to provide support for the Learning and Teaching systems, Student and Research systems, and Corporate systems, in line with variations in demand.
This position resides within the Student & Research, Application Run team in the Information Technology – Application Services department. The Student & Research, Application Run team focuses on maintaining a high level of availability for its portfolio of application services, which underpin various University business processes and service thousands of university staff and students.
The aim of the team is to optimise operational efficiency for University staff and provide an excellent student experience.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Sound understanding of highly technical information and functions (e.g. system API’s such as SOAP and REST).
- PHP, JAVA, JavaScript, HTML, XML or other scripting languages
- Oracle and SQL scripting
- Experience in software incident management and problem management including
- investigation, resolution, and communication.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
